En-route to Mossel Bay
Point Caravan Resort in Mossel Bay was where we headed to start our first year longterm camping.
But first we stayed over for a night at Onze Rust in Colesberg and the next day we reached our first 14-day destination.
On the way to Mossel Bay, we stopped at Oppie Vlak Padstal between Aberdeen and Willowmore. If you travel that road, be sure to stop there!

Things to know
- The front (seafront) row is not available at special rates. Long-term camping in this row at the market rate.
- Row M shares water taps with the opposite row L which means about 6 sites per tap.
- We were there in January 2023 and the pine trees were shedding seeds. Lots of noise when they hit your caravan roof.
- Trees do not shed resin.
- Birds nest in the palm tree on row L. Beware of bird droppings on your tent.
- Traffic noise. Bikes and roaring cars around the resort 24 hours per day. Many people do not mind it, but if you are a light sleeper like me, it may influence your experience.
- Bring your own toilet paper – single-ply preferred.
