LANKSTANERS, THE REAL ALL SEASON CAMPERS

WHAT ARE LANKSTANERS?

What Are Lankstaners?

Lankstaners are campers who choose to stay at campsites for extended periods, often weeks but mostly months.

The lankstaan culture has different types of campers:

Campers who camp at one campsite for a month at a time.

Campers who camp at different campsites for weeks or months and then move on.

Campers who camp at a campsite for longer than a month and then move on.

The three types of lankstaners or long-term campers could be campers who camp and then return home before repeating the process, or campers who move from one campsite to another.

The latter are often people who rented their houses out and are camping “permanently” although they do not camp at one campsite permanently.

These three types of campers are distinguished from campers who camp permanently at one campsite.

The term “lankstaner” is used to describe campers who are not bound by seasons or time constraints, allowing them to enjoy camping at any time of the year or even year-round.

Benefits of Long-Term Camping

Cost Savings: Long-term camping can be more cost-effective than traditional vacations. By staying at a single campsite for an extended period, campers can often negotiate lower rates, reducing overall expenses. Many campsites offer long-term monthly and pensioners rates.

We have been camping for 18 months at the time of this article and we only use campgrounds that offer long-term camping rates.

Campers who rent out their homes generally find that they benefit financially, even after agents commission and other deductions.

Deeper Connection with Nature: Camping is an activity that, by its nature, allows for spending extended time outside, and a deeper appreciation and connection with nature. Lankstaners have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the environment, fostering a greater sense of peace and well-being.

Some research indicates the advantages of being in nature.

Flexibility and Freedom: Enjoy the freedom to explore at your own pace without the constraints of a tight schedule. Long-term campers can move from one campsite to another, discovering new places and experiences. Long-term camping allows enough time to get to know the areas where you camp.
